The original story concept, written in prose!

5000 years ago, legends tell of a small child called Fea, who lives a normal, yet impoverished life with her parents and younger brother, Nuada, outside a small town in Ireland. Fea dreams of a life larger than the one she has, and fervently wishes for a release from the prison her parents keep her trapped within.
After years of abuse and malnourishment, Fea’s chance finally arrives in the form of a weary traveller who happened to need a place to rest. Now, Fea’s parents were not ordinary folk. They were ignorant, mean people of the lowest order; abusing Fea and forcing her to work every waking hour with only the barest nourishment in order to sustain her. As to what her parents did for a living…they preyed upon innocent people, practising foul, dark magic to sway a stranger under their grasp.
This particular traveller however, was different. As he walked into the yard, Fea noticed something quite unusual; perched on his shoulder sat a crow! Before she had time to comprehend this however, a  hard slap across her head sent her sprawling onto the ground, the bucket she held flying out of her hand, and the contents scattering over the ground. “Pay attention to what you’re doing girl! Now clean that up!” said her mother in a scathing, sneering voice. “Yes mother” Fea replied meekly, as she picked herself up off the ground, and worked on cleaning the mess she had made.
“I’m sorry, is this a bad time?” said the stranger as he walked around the corner, passing a piece of meal to the timid crow perched on his shoulder. “No, not at all good sir, how may I help you?” said Fea’s mother, with an eager glint in her eye. “You look so weary, you must be very tired from travel. Please come inside and rest your bones”.
And so the man followed Fea’s mother inside, while Fea finished cleaning up the mess on the ground, still nursing a sore head. When she had finished cleaning and made her way inside, she noticed her brother sitting on the steps at the door, crying, a nasty bruise forming around his eye. Fea was enraged at this treatment of her younger brother. She could be strong for herself, but could not bear to see her brother undergo the same treatment. Anger making her lose control, Lea stormed inside the house, only to witness something which would stay with her forever. The stranger was convulsing on the ground, foam at the side of his mouth, his face red and contorted with pain, and her parents were nowhere to be seen; whatever they had tried this time hadn’t gone according to plan.
She ran to the stranger’s side, frantically wondering what to do. “The crow...” the stranger whispered, “keep…safe…”, before passing into the beyond. Fea stood, and looked around the room. Hearing a screech outside, she instantly thought of her brother and ran to the door. As soon as she passed through it everything went black.
Fea awakens to find a beady eye not two inches from her own. Startled, she jumps back, only to realise it’s the crow staring at her. Sitting up, she looks around. No sign of her brother or parents. If Nuada is alone with her parents, there will be no one to protect him, and no end to the abuse he will receive from her twisted parents. She has to save him! After packing a blanket and some food, she sets of in search of her brother, not even daring to think what horrors may have befallen him, and to bring her parents to justice. The crow swooping in lazy circles, following behind.
